All Huon Valley businesses and community groups are invited to support local recovery by adding a listing onto the new Huon Valley website, which was launched on Monday 25 May 2020.
An initiative of Huon Valley Council, the Huon Valley website is a platform to showcase our many local businesses, world-famous tourism attractions, important community groups and activities, and quality home-grown talent, while building connections between our people and helping us to grow stronger together as we recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
One of the key features of the website is the Local Directory, a place for businesses and community groups to connect with customers, clients and each other at a time when contact-less service and communication is preferred.
“Our community and businesses continue to face extreme challenges due to COVID-19, and the Huon Valley website will play an important role in rebuilding our local community support systems and economy by supporting our promotion of the Huon Valley as a place to visit, live, produce and invest,” said Huon Valley Council Mayor Bec Enders.
“The website, and the Local Directory in particular, is a place for you to connect with your community and share what you have to offer.”
The website’s rich collection of stories of the Valley will continue to grow over coming months, as businesses and community groups add their listings.
“The website, and the Local Directory in particular, is a place for you to connect with your community and share what you have to offer,” said Cr Enders. “Small-to-medium businesses, sole traders, service providers, community groups, schools and sports clubs are all encouraged to add their listing and help us support local recovery.
“Our local people want to support local business, and by adding your listing you will be helping people who are living in or visiting the Huon Valley to connect with and support our local products, services and experiences.
“Supporting recovery in our communities and economy means being proud and proactive in promoting our local offerings, making connections and working together to rebuild as we continue to face the challenges of COVID-19.”
