A large gray military cargo aircraft with four engines flies at a low angle against a clear blue sky.

Communities across the Huon Valley will be holding ANZAC Day services on Friday 25 April 2025, providing opportunities to honour the service and sacrifice of veterans, past and present.

Services will be held in Dover, Franklin, Judbury, Cygnet, Huonville and Geeveston. All are welcome.

C-17A Globemaster Flyover – Huonville

This ANZAC Day, the skies over Huonville will host something truly special. The Royal Australian Air Force has selected only a handful of locations across the country for a commemorative C-17A Globemaster flyover – and Huonville is one of them!

The C-17A Globemaster aircraft is scheduled to fly over the Huonville Cenotaph around 11:00 am, travelling from south to north at an altitude as low as 100 metres.

Please note:

  • Small children and pets may be startled by the sound. It is recommended they are kept close and reassured during the flyover.
  • Huonville’s Main Street will be closed from 10:00 am for the ANZAC Day march, beginning at the Council Chambers.

This flyover is a meaningful opportunity to pause and reflect, and to honour those who have served our nation.
