Tasmania Fire Service’s annual Bushfire-Ready Challenge begins this week. The four-week challenge is online where participants will complete challenges designed to learn more about bushfire safety, bushfire risk, create a bushfire plan and prepare their property. You could also win a fully packed emergency kit if you submit your completed challenge at the end of the four-week period.
“This is an important opportunity for our residents to help themselves prepare for the upcoming bushfire season,” said Huon Valley Mayor Sally Doyle.
Council is encouraging all Huon Valley residents to participate. Register for the challenge at www.bushfire.tas.gov.au and get all the information and resources you need to be prepared for bushfire season.
“Emergencies can be stressful and being prepared will help you to think clearly, have a greater sense of control and make better decisions so you can keep yourself and family safe. When it comes to bushfire, we all need to play our part.” said Mayor Doyle.
