An Emergency Food Grant is available to Tasmanian households who have gone without power for at least 72 hours, provided by the Tasmanian State Government.

One payment of $350 per affected household is available. To be eligible, you must be a Tasmanian resident living in an affected area and have gone without power for at least 72 hours.

This follows the significant power outages experienced across the state due to the recent severe weather event.

Before completing the application, ensure you have your photo identification (drivers licence or Government information card) and address confirmation (drivers licence, utility bill, rates or bank statement).

“Huon Valley residents can visit our Customer Service office where our staff will be available to assist you in submitting your online application,” said Mayor Sally Doyle.
