At this workshop we will draw on the model underpinning Nonviolent Communication O.F.N.R. ( Observations, Feelings, Needs and Requests) as we learn and practice communication using 3 types of Requests.

We will learn to identify Requests that are received as demands. ‘Demand energy’ in our communication creates disconnection. A Demand is a ‘power over’ action that often escalates quickly to conflict and anger. We will practice connecting to our own precious Needs before we seek support of some kind from another person.

We will explore the PLATO model ( Person, Location, Action, Timing and Object) and practice making requests to ourselves and then requests to another person.

In making Requests we will build on the skills of Empathy and Self Empathy practiced at the 2 November workshop.
