The Huon Valley Garden Club has plans to beautify the Huon Valley by planting trees. The club donated a maple tree called Autumn Blaze to the town of Huonville and held a tree planting ceremony earlier this month. The tree was planted near the War Memorial.

The club described the tree as “magnificent” and thanked Huon Valley Council staff Michelle Joy, Michelle Churchill and Sam Warren for helping with the planting of the tree.

Ann Pook, member of the Huon Valley Garden Club said, “the club is thrilled with the tree.”

The club plans to donate a tree each to Cygnet, Geeveston and Franklin in coming years with the aim of beautifying the Huon Valley.
