The Huon Valley Council will be farewelling Jason Browne following his resignation from the position of General Manager, after two years in the role.

Mr Browne’s last day with Council will be Tuesday 3 October 2023.

Mr Browne said he was grateful for the opportunity to work with the Huon Valley community, staff, and councillors to develop a fresh Community Vision for the Valley, which will guide long term decision making.

“Our recent National Economic Development Award is indicative of the great work being progressed by Council and I thank the staff for their passion in serving the community,” said Mr Browne.

He went on to say, “I am proud of Council’s progress in responding to the community concerns regarding road maintenance and development applications customer experiences, both seeing close to 30% reductions in complaints over the past year.”

“I also extend my thanks to past and current councillors for their support and commitment to the community.”

Huon Valley Council Mayor Sally Doyle thanks Mr Browne for his commitment and significant contributions to the Council and community over the past two years.

“On behalf of my fellow Councillors and Council staff, I wish Jason every success for the future,” said Mayor Doyle.

To ensure the seamless continuity of service to our community, Council’s Director Infrastructure Climate & Environment will step into the role of Acting General Manager while a national search is conducted to identify a suitable replacement.
