The Role

As the Principal Building and Plumbing Compliance Officer, you will be the crucial link between our community and regulatory requirements. Your role will involve:

  • Guiding community members through building and plumbing compliance processes
  • Continue to build and improve the Council’s Building and Plumbing Compliance framework and business systems
  • Developing and delivering educational campaigns to increase awareness
  • Conducting research and compliance inspections
  • Developing and implementing Building and Plumbing compliance business process improvements to enhance customer experience

We are seeking a customer-oriented individual with a passion for helping people meet their building and plumbing compliance requirements. We are also seeking candidates who demonstrate strong communication skills, good organisational and investigation skills, ability to apply technical information, and willingness to develop a good working knowledge of the Building Act 2016 and regulations.

Skills & Experience

  • Investigative mindset and meticulous attention to detail, ideal for evidence gathering
  • Ability to interpret legislation and regulations and explain them in simple terms
  • Excellent people skills, including communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution
