  • Starting wage $88,868.44 per annum
  • On-call allowance paid in addition to the salary

The Role

As the Principal Resilience and Recovery you will: 

  • Work with communities across the Huon Valley to build resilience to future disasters 
  • Engage with community and stakeholders to build community resilience and enhance local networks 
  • Support local events and activities that enhance community networks 
  • Undertake the functions and powers of Municipal Recovery Coordinator 
  • Plan and manage evacuation centres and recovery centres 
  • Act as Deputy Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator 

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will have the following: 

  • Completion of relevant Diploma or Bachelor level qualification and/or relevant or transferrable extensive practical experience. 
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of maturity, discretion and judgment  
  • High-level oral and written communication skills  
  • knowledge of Asset Based Community Development 
  • Knowledge of Tasmanian emergency management arrangements
