The wait is over! The highly anticipated new playground at Burtons Reserve in Cygnet is officially open and ready for fun.
After months of planning and construction, local children are already enjoying the brand-new play area, with the sounds of laughter and joy echoing across the park.
The playground was designed with input from the kids of the Huon Valley and reflects their desire for truly adventurous play.
The fencing has now been removed, allowing the community to fully experience the new space. Families are already taking full advantage, with children eagerly exploring the playground’s many features, from swings and slides to climbing frames and imaginative play.
While the playground is open and operational, there are still a few finishing touches to be completed. Shade sails over the picnic area will be installed later this month to provide a comfortable space for families to relax and enjoy the park.
To mark the official opening, the Huon Valley Council will be hosting a free community BBQ (sausage sizzle) at Burtons Reserve on Sunday, 6 April, from 11:30am to 1:30pm. All are welcome!
The new playground is a part of the Huon Valley Council’s ongoing efforts to enhance public spaces for the local community. With its modern design and exciting features, Burtons Reserve is sure to remain a favourite spot for families in Cygnet for years to come.
