Council has a new street sweeper that will help deliver cleaner and safer streets across the Huon Valley.
“Having our own street sweeper means we can now schedule regular cleaning of local streets and respond faster when needed, rather than relying on contractors. This is a practical investment that will help prevent our stormwater pits from being blocked by debris and keep our roads in better condition year-round,” Huon Valley Mayor Sally Doyle said.
The street sweeper is part of several new additions to Council’s fleet, including two special-purpose trucks and an excavator to replace our aging fleet, all aimed at improving services to the community.
Council is also proud to have taken ownership of its first electric ride-on mower, marking a significant step towards our commitment to sustainable practices in our day-to-day operations.
