A new online Emergency Management Hub is on our website. This Hub provides the local community with crucial resources to prepare for risks including storms, floods, fires, heatwaves and landslides.

The Emergency Management Hub is available at https://www.huonvalley.tas.gov.au/residents/emergency-information/

“The Emergency Management Hub is a fantastic resource all year-round, but with bushfires being the most likely and serious threat in our area, it is a particular focus at this time of year,” Mayor Sally Doyle said.

The Hub offers advice on important safety measures, including assessing bushfire hazards, and removing flammable materials like overgrown grass, vegetation, and rubbish.

The Hub provides details on preparation of an emergency kit that includes pets and how to stay connected when internet and phone lines are down.

“It takes a village to be disaster ready, and connected communities are stronger and recover faster.” “Preparation is key. Ensuring your property is as safe as possible and that you have the tools and knowledge to act in an emergency can save lives. I encourage everyone to visit our new webpage, understand your risks, and take action now.”
