Council is pleased to announce that the newly renovated Port Huon pool will be open to the public from 8am on Saturday 8 February 2025.
To celebrate the reopening, Council is offering free entry all weekend and hosting a community barbecue from 10am on Saturday.
Mayor Doyle said the upgraded facility represents an important investment in community health and wellbeing.
“We’re excited to welcome residents back to enjoy their newly renovated pool,” Mayor Doyle said. “The improvements include new pool tiling, an all-accessibility hoist, comfortable seating, and a state-of-the-art ventilation system for year-round comfort.”
The renovation project will continue throughout 2025, with planned upgrades to change rooms, bathrooms, and connecting hallways.
The Port Huon Sports Centre will operate with extended hours to better serve the community:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7am-12noon and 3pm-8pm
- Tuesday and Thursday: 3pm-8pm
- Saturday: 8am-12noon
- Sunday: 11am-4pm
“I encourage everyone to come and experience these wonderful improvements for themselves during our free opening weekend,” Mayor Doyle said.
