Huon Valley Councillor, Jenny Cambers-Smith has resigned her position as of Friday,
2 August 2024.


Cr Cambers-Smith was elected to Council in October 2022 and has represented
Council on a number of local committees and community groups during her time on
Council.


Cr Cambers-Smith will be looking to spend more time with her family.


Mayor Sally Doyle thanked Cr Cambers-Smith for her service.


“On behalf of the community, fellow Councillors and Council staff I want to thank
Jenny for her diligence as a Councillor and her representation of community and
environmental values that often inspired debate and positive change. Jenny’s
particular passion for climate change, conservation, housing affordability and land
use was observed and admired by many in our community,” Mayor Doyle said.


“We wish Jenny all the best for the future and we now look forward to welcoming a
new Councillor following the Tasmanian Electoral Commission recount process.”
