Tasmanian Birds
Tasmania is home to a vast array of birdlife. Twelve of these bird species are endemic to Tasmania. Unfortunately, some are also threatened.
To help protect our native birds you can provide water during the hotter months and stick to the wet sand when driving or walking (especially with dogs) on beaches during the shorebird breeding season (spring and summer).
