Dirt road surrounded by lush greenery, leading to a scenic view of a lake and distant hills under a cloudy sky. Tall trees frame the foreground, and rolling fields stretch towards the water.

Welcome to

the Huon Valley

The Huon Valley Council is the southernmost local government area in Australia. The main townships are Huonville, Franklin, Cygnet, Geeveston and Dover.
A large group of people in athletic wear gather on a sloped street outdoors, posing and smiling for a group selfie taken by a woman in an orange safety vest. Mountains and houses are visible in the background.

Hilltop Hike
2026

Walk, run or stroll Scenic Hill on 1 March to support mental health and suicide prevention. Join this uplifting community event.
A field of tall purple foxglove flowers in bloom under a partly cloudy blue sky, with green hills and trees in the background.
